I've got a feelin'....

This color is from the Wet n Wild Fergie collection, it's called Tonight's Going to be a Good Night, and surprise, I love it. This color is basically the opposite of Sally Hansen Bridal Veil, it's black hex glitter mixed with larger gold hexes in a clear base. Black glitter - go Wet n Wild! ♥

Here it is over an un-named LA Girl's gray cream:

and this is overtop Going Platinum, which is also from the Fergie line. I really like this combo.

Thanks for looking!

I recently had the ultimate haul....yes, are you ready for this? Sit, down, cuz, I scored Gosh at Big Lots.....and not just any Gosh, but THREE bottles of Gosh Holographic!!!! For $2 each. Oh yeah, I hit the polish lottery. Behold:

Now, I had to dig...like really dig through almost 20 tubs of dirty cosmetics to find them, but I looked and it was worth it. I'll be swatching Holographic later this week....and I'll be giving away one of these bottles soon.

I picked up one other Gosh color, it's called Purple Heart. PH is a duochrome that flashes purple/grey to green. This is one coat over black. I did have a hard time capturing the really purple color, but if you check out this bottle shot, that's what you see on the nail.

Thanks for looking!

Man, I don't know about you, but I'm already all in the Fall mood! I broke out the pumpkin spice candles and I'm about to hit the Franklin Cider Mill on the way to the Renaissance Festival tomorrow morning. The Ren Fest/Cider Mill trip always signals the official start of Fall for me.

Sooo, I need a polish that screams the season, and I chose OPI's Deutsch You Want Me Baby? DYWMB is a bright orange packed full of yellow shimmer, it positively glows.

This photo is a great visual of the yellow shimmer, make sure to enlarge the pick:

Unfortunately, I had a pretty bad nail catastrophe yesterday, I severely broke two nails trying to get a box down from a shelf...and both breaks were on my swatch hand! So I hope you don't mind the one finger swatches for a while.

Thanks for looking!

Color Club Feelin' Groovy is a perfect Halloween green!

I was swatching Color Club's Feelin' Groovy the other day and after seeing it on the nail, I thought it was a perfect shade of bright Halloween green! I think it'd be a great color for a Frankenstein themed mani....I'll have to think on that one for a bit and see if I can come up with something fun.

In the meantime, check it out:

You could just add some simple stitches to it (of course you'd probably do a better job that I did! LOL):

or some orange glitter:

Today I have some tombstone polish spam. I'm so ready for the Halloween season! The 1st color is #12423 Creepy Pumpkin. CP is a sheer orange base loaded with orange micro glitter. This is one coat over black:Next, we have #11137 Black Magic. BM is a clear base with multi colored thin bar glitter. Just like Creepy Pumpkin, this is one coat over black:This color is also called Black Magic, but it has a different number #12422. This polish is black with multi color super micro glitter. And lastly, we have #11139 Night Glow. NG is a glow in the dark topcoat. This is two coats, and as you can see, it leaves a bit of a haze overtop the base color:Now, I held both the bottle and my nails right up to the light for a decent amount of time, and although the bottle glowed brightly, there was zero glow on the nails. Thanks for looking!

Turquoise and Pearls

Needed some turquoise for today! I mixed Illamasqua with SugarPill and they got along so well on the lid, like best friends!I get so positively surprised by the pigments from Illamasqua every time I use them, and I think I need some more of them...Sorry, that was just a note to myself haha! And why not toss on some pearls just for fun! Okay seriously, of all the things I've shopped I don't regret getting the pearls from eBay! There's no way I for a second think I shouldn't have done it! So I strongly recommend anyone to get them, the list of reasons is so long!

My favorite brushes

Thought I'd give you a look on my favorite brushes I tend to use a lot.I have developed a certain predilection for synthetic brushes for some time now, and I should have started using them a lot more earlier.I previously thought that they weren't as good as natural hair brushes, but now it's the other way around. These days the synthetic brushes have developed into being so much more than they used to. The hairs are so fine and works wonderfully to whatever one uses them for. And today you can find synthetic brushes that looks and feels so authentic to natural hair it's almost creepy!Brilliant!
So here're the ones I use a lot in my looks, but of course they change depending on the actual look or if I have gotten hold of anything new.

And a close up so you can see how they are shaped and what hairs they have!

As you can see I like to use smaller brushes rather than bigger and fluffier ones. Some of these probably have been spotted in my tutorials, so if you're curious of the brushes click on the label Tutorial Time and you'll see what I've used them for.If there are any questions about a particular brush, pop a comment or send an email and I'll try to respond as quick as possible.

And I'll show you some of my fav face brushes while we're on the subject. These can be used for masks and other bigger things around the eye area if you want, but for now I use them mostly for the face.
For some time now I've been using powder foundations and I like that a lot. And to that comes a fluffy brush in handy to buff the powder into the skin.

One thing I just love with all the palettes from Sleek is that as soon as I open one, I always gets so inspired by just looking at all the colours! And somehow I end up with colour combination I would never thought of before. It's also a great challenge to only use ONE palette and let the fantasy flow!

Truly mattely deeply...

Yep! I have got my hand on the mattest lip product I've ever seen! It's from the PPQ Shangri-La Collection from Sleek, and the shade is called Jazz. There's a baby pink one too, but I don't have it.And there are two gorgeous eye shadow palettes as well, we just don't have shown them yet (we're late, we know!)
This one is super red! And as the name says matte (as hell!)!You know how I like my lips to be over the top glossy, and this is the heaviest opposite to that. Very long lasting but oh so dry!
And the reason for my wobbly lipline is because when applying the lip cream (or what to call it) it sets very fast so there's no time to adjust things. A lip pencil should be a good thing to do before (note to oneself!) application!
A very good shade for Christmas that's for sure, and New Years lips should be the best with this, though I choose to have a gloss on top of this or I would feel very uncomfortable!
What do you think of it? If you have it too, don't you also find it very dry, or is it the best ever tried??Let me know!!

Time for count-down

So we don't have many days left of this year, and knowing that all the planing of the New Years Eve look begins! So we thought we could give you some choices, or just give some inspiration. You don't have to follow the whole look, pick just a detail maybe, or get some ideas of your own that bubbles up after seeing a look! You decide! This is pretty simple, yet keeps that glittery way perfect for New Years. I did the eyes pretty naked, but chose to glitter anyway! The glitter is placed in the outer corner of the eye, and continues to under the bottom lashes and a bit out towards the temples. It's a light hologram glitter so it looks good without any shadow underneath.Below I show good lips for this!!

And the suggested lips could either be bold or a bit more family friendly! And if you want to glitter more, mix some glitter with a clear lipgloss and put on the lips of choice and you're disco ball of the evening!
The family friendly one is an Intertube from Shiro Cosmetics in Forty Cakes! Very glossy and smooth on the lips!

And the bolder pink is Matte Lipstick Shocking Pink from NYX - a fantastic pink shade that leave no one unnoticed!
Hope you liked it!Azure
