I'm your Huckleberry....

Today I have some tombstone polish spam. I'm so ready for the Halloween season! The 1st color is #12423 Creepy Pumpkin. CP is a sheer orange base loaded with orange micro glitter. This is one coat over black:Next, we have #11137 Black Magic. BM is a clear base with multi colored thin bar glitter. Just like Creepy Pumpkin, this is one coat over black:This color is also called Black Magic, but it has a different number #12422. This polish is black with multi color super micro glitter. And lastly, we have #11139 Night Glow. NG is a glow in the dark topcoat. This is two coats, and as you can see, it leaves a bit of a haze overtop the base color:Now, I held both the bottle and my nails right up to the light for a decent amount of time, and although the bottle glowed brightly, there was zero glow on the nails. Thanks for looking!

The Past Month

Hi all,

It has been a while!
As most of you would have noticed, Marked Beauty blog has been quiet over the past month or so.
My partner was in an accident and I went from being a social worker and part-time blogger, to being a full time nurse. Sadly, blogging had to be put on the back-burner for a little while.
Although I wish I didn't have to vanish so abruptly, I am glad that I had time off to get back into the right headspace. After all, you wouldn't have wanted to read blogs about medication and hospital cafeteria food.
My partner is now on the mend (without lasting damage, thankfully), I'm heading back to work in a few weeks and things in general are looking wonderful again. I feel as though it is the perfect time for me to come out of the dark!
I have a lot of reviews, swatches and posts to get out there and they will start popping up tomorrow!
Upcoming
- Orofluido- Burt's Bees Sugar Scrub- Korres galore and- A handmade nail polish brand that has some fabulous glitter polishes.

Thank you all for your understanding, and for not deserting me. I shall see a lot more of all of you from now on.

Orofluido Beauty Elixir for Hair

To contact us Click HERE
Hey all,

I am finally back to reviewing (and purchasing)! I was going to bring this review to you a while ago - but personal and technical problems have bombarded me over the past month. Anyway, it's here now!
This product is one that I was excited to try for a long while. I had read reviews that said it was magic hair elixir, that did everything you could want it to.
They weren't wrong. And I have to thank the lovely Mandy from One Floor for sending this baby to me, as it has completely changed my hair.

What Orofluido Says "Orofluido is a beauty elixir for all hair types, with a pure luxuriance that envelops your hair."
I translate this to a more simple "It's great".
Key Ingredients Argan, Cypress and Linseed Oils.
What I Love - It gave me shinier, stronger hair within two weeks. - Reduced frizziness. - Doesn't leave hair feeling oily or weighed down - my main concern with hair oils. - Large amount of product, and you only use a little. It should last for a while! - Smells great!
What I Don't - A little on the pricier side, but I think that it is worth the investment.
Where to Buy: One Floor
Price: $24.95 for 50mL
I have quite long hair that can sometimes lean towards the dry, brittle and frizzy side, especially if I have been overusing hot tools. This has done wonders for the appearance as well as the health of my hair. I have tried other hair oils in the past, such as Moroccan Argan Oil and Loreal Mythic Oil, but neither of them have produced the same results.
I love it, it is highly likely that you will love it to.
Try, try, try!
Hope you all have a great night! xx

Burt's Bees Cranberry & Pomegranate Sugar Scrub

To contact us Click HERE
Hey all,

I am often plagued with dry and flaky skin, so when I was sent this nifty lil' product I was over the moon. Although my skin has a lot more problems (of the flaky variety) in the colder months, I definitely still get a bout of dry skin here and there in summer.
And who wants crocodile legs on display?

What's In It? Cranberry seeds, pomegranate oil, natural sugar crystals and shea butter.
How to UseI scrub generous amounts in circular motions all over my body. Concentrate in particular on elbows, knees and any other areas that need a little more. Wash off! And be careful, it makes the shower quite slippery!
What I Love - It exfoliates like a dream and leaves my skin feeling smooth. - Exfoliates without being too abrasive or damaging to the skin. - Conditions skin. - Natural ingredients with no harsh chemicals in sight. - Smells divine. - You get a lot of product, so it should last a while.
What I Don't - Does leave a little residue, so you may want to use it at night to avoid oily feeling skin during the day.
Where to Buy: One Floor, Myer, Priceline and certain pharmacies.
Price: $29.95

I've been trying to get into more body scrubs/exfoliators and am glad that this one was brought to my attention. I adore more natural products, especially when they do exactly what they are supposed to - three cheers for Burt's Bees!
Have you tried any scrubs that are to die for? I would love to know!
Hope you all have a great night! xx
About One Floor: This product was sent to me by One Floor, found at onefloor.com.au. One floor stocks a range of beauty, hair and fragrance products and has a great range of natural and organic products in the mix. Best of all, it's a small QLD based business with a very friendly team - so head over and give them some support!

Urban Decay Naked Palette: I know, yet another review!

To contact us Click HERE
Hey all,

Even though I use my Naked Palette almost everyday, I have never considered reviewing it or posting it on my blog. Let's face it, there are A LOT of reviews out there and I figured readers would just eye-roll at yet another post.
But, as you can see - I caved.
I decided to see how the photograph and swatches would photograph and it just escalated from there. It's a nifty little palette guys, don't hate on me!
Naked Palette

A Closer Look at the Shades

What I Love - Amazing quality shadows: they are smooth, creamy and very blend-able. - Long lasting when used with a primer (haven't tried them without). - Great range of shades with a mix of matte and shimmer. - Not tested on animals. - The packaging is cool-beans.
What I Don't- Very hard to find in Australia - where are you Urban Decay? We're calling!
Where to Buy: I grabbed mine off Beauty Bay.
Price: $55.20
Swatches
Without Flash
Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck & Half Baked
Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep & Gunmetal
With Flash

A bit of a pricey palette, but it is worth every cent! I use this baby almost every day and have never regretted purchasing it - not even once.
Hope you all have a great night! xx

w7 Bronzing Pearls

To contact us Click HERE
Hey all,

Many people think that I don't need bronzer, as I have darker skin. But without it, I can sometimes end up looking like a dead fish - trust me!

I find that bronzer brightens up my complexion and helps even it out a bit as well. This bronzer is quite close to my natural skin tone, so it doesn't overpower. It is definitely perfect as a 'pick me up' product though!

w7 Bronzing Pearls

What I Love
- Subtle shade on my skin tone.
- Applies smoothly and evenly.
- Isn't overloaded with shimmer, but does have a brightening effect.
- No-mess pearls!
- Cheap!

What I Don't
- Made out of cheaper ingredients. I would check them before using if you have any sensitivities (it hasn't been a problem for me).

Where to Buy: I got mine from Chemist Warehouse.

Price: $4.95

Swatch

As you can see, it's very similar to my skin tone - but brighter.
A wonderful, simple bronzer - at a great price! It's not my HG bronzer, but it is a good basic that I tend to use often. I would recommend it to anyone who was looking to expand their collection and to those who are just starting out with bronzer.

Hope you have a great night! xx

Neutrogena Night Calming Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes

To contact us Click HERE
Hey all,

Proper makeup removal is what I believe keeps my skin clear and I usually break out when I have a 'lazy day'. To cleanse my skin, I usually begin with makeup wipes and follow this up with a cleanser and water. I have found that this is the best way for me to ensure that I have removed ALL traces of makeup!
I also enjoy having them on hand when I am travelling and on days where I am too lazy to use a cleanser at all - it's better than nothing!
I have been using wipes for many years and have had many favourites - with Simple being my go-to brand for a couple of years. I rarely changed it up, except when I absolutely had to (out of stock, emergencies etc). But, I had heard good things about the Neutrogena wipes and was in Priceline on a sale day!
What I Love - Glide over skin very smoothly, without pulling or tugging. - Alcohol free. - Removes all traces of makeup - mascara and eyeliner included! - Usually only takes one wipe. - Love the scent - it helps me unwind at the end of the day. - Didn't cause any irritation. - I believe these have resulted in less break outs. - Purple packaging...
Where to Buy: Priceline, Big W and K-mart.
Price: $7.99

They are supposed to cleanse and tone without the need for water. My skin never feels clean enough when doing this, but it might work out alright for others.
I am definitely glad that I gave these a try and have already bought another two packs - just in case!
Hope you all have a great night! xx

LonVitalité Professional Face Masks

To contact us Click HERE
Hey all,

I have been on a face mask kick lately and have been trying them left, right and centre. I feel as though they help maintain my skin's wellbeing and keep it looking fresh and clear. They also make me feel pampered - so why not?!
LonVitalité was lovely enough to send me a pack of wonderful face mask varieties and I have tried and loved ALL of them.

The masks are all cloth masks, so involve minimal mess!

The Masks
24K Active Gold Yulan Oil
- This mask has a cooling feeling a few seconds after you put it on your skin.- Moisturising and nourishing.- Promotes micro circulation and skin regeneration.
This mask was my favourite in the pack. It reduced redness and evened out my skin tone after one use and is definitely something I will be purchasing as a part of my weekly skin routine.

C1 Whitening, Moisturising and Pigment Taming
- Vitamin C to inhibit melanin production. - Moisturising.- Can reduce skin damage caused by UVA & UVB exposure. - Strengthens blood circulation in the face. - Boosts skin metabolism.
This mask brightened my entire complexion and created more radiant looking skin. I love the fact that it can reduce skin damage caused by the sun - definitely something we need here in Australia.
C2 Collagen Protein Wrinkle Removing & Moisturising Face Mask
- Accelerates skin metabolism and skin growth. - Smooths fine lines. - Recovers balance between skin oil and moisture. - 100% natural collagen protein. - Contains Hyaluronic acid.
This mask smoothed out the fine lines on my forehead, I only have a few though. It also reduced the appearance of the blemishes I had. It's is also worth mentioning that my skin felt a lot more balanced over the next few days and I did not have to oil blot at all!

C3 Collagen Firming & Wrinkle Removing Red Wine Face Mask
- Improve skin luster and promote the regeneration of damaged cells.- Soothes from over-exposure to the sun and calms sun burn. - 300% water absorption
- Firms the skin.

My skin was more taut than usual. It also calmed down redness and seemed to fade hyper-pigmentation. It was also very moisturising!
C4 Coconut Milk Hydrating & Nourishing Face Mask
- Strengthens the underlying layers of skin.
- Highly moisturising.
- Supports the natural chemical balance of the skin.
- Prevents drying, sagging and age spots.
- Smoothes out fine lines.
- Assists with acne by helping dissolve obstructions.

I use coconut oil in cooking, on my hair and on my skin. I am definitely aware of the amazing properties it has, so was very excited for this mask. After use, my skin felt moisturised for days. It also reduced redness and smoothed out the surface of my skin. It smells great too!

Price: $29 for a box of 5 masks.

I think that they are definitely worth the price!

Where to Buy: http://lonvitalite.com/shop/

I also have an eye mask and some hand masks to review, but they will get a post of their own!

Hope you have a great night! xx

Christmas Shopping (For Myself)

To contact us Click HERE
Hey all,

Firstly, Merry Christmas Eve! I am up doing last minute Christmas activities (and waiting to open presents) - so I thought I would write a little post.
Every year around Christmas, I usually do a little shop for myself. I adore buying gifts for other people and it would be hard to find a centimetre of space under my tree - but I can't forget about myself. In the spirit of giving, I am giving myself some gifts!
I wonder what Santa would have to say about that...
The Mini-Haul

Colgate MaxWhite One Ice - The ads got to me. I don't have terribly yellow teeth, but they could always be whiter! I hope this one works...
St Ives Naturally Indulgent Body Lotion in Coconut Milk & Orchid Extract - I've tried a different version of this moisturiser before and loved it! Pretty good value for the size as well.
Lush Lemony Flutter - The best cuticle butter/treatment I have tried. I ran out a little while ago and my nails have been suffering without it!
Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Lotion - Thought I would give this a try as my skin has been causing a bit of trouble lately. Was recommend to me by my no#1 Mecca gal.
Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturiser - As above.
Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel - My favourite cleanser. Keeps my skin looking healthy and glowing.
Colgate Tartar Control Floss - This is my favourite tooth floss (exciting, I know...). I don't know how well it controls tartar - but I don't seem to have any, so kudos there!
Soap & Glory Hand Food - It is the most astonishing hand cream ever! I always have spares as I find life very difficult without it!
Did you buy yourself anything this festive season? If so, link me!
Merry Christmas Everyone! xx

HIGHLIGHTS, TIDBITS AND NEWS
CVS shoppers: Attention Aveeno body care fans! Check out this deal on Aveeno body lotions or creams this week. And don't forget that the CVS Beauty Clearance Sale is still going on (click here for the master list). Rumor has it that some locations may be putting more items on clearance starting at the middle of this month, so if you haven't been able to find some of the items on the master list on clearance at your locations, you might have better luck in a week or two, so keep on scanning!
Rite Aid shoppers: Lots to cover in the world of Rite Aid this week. First up, when you spend $10 on any Wet n Wild products this week, you'll get $5 back in +UP Rewards. That's basically like a 50% off sale when you spend $10, so if you're able to spot any of the new WnW products I showed you last week, this is a great time for a haul (especially since the limit is 2 on this rewards deal). If your Rite Aid has all of the new NYC collections I showed you the other day, it's haul time since all NYC cosmetics are BOGO1/2OFF and when you buy 2 items you get $1+UP (limit 2 on the rewards deal). There are also some awesome deals on EcoTools, Physicians Formula, Jesse's Girl and Prestige this week (details below). Remember when I told you that Vidal Sassoon is coming back with a new drugstore haircare line? Well it has landed at Rite Aid and it's on sale this week for 2/$8. More news: Rite Aid is celebrating its 50th anniversary this month, so there will be special icons next to items in this week's circular (actually this is going to be happening for the entire month, through Jan. 26th). When you see a little red money sign next to an item (I will put those items in red below), that means that they'll qualify for even more savings (details below). Also, the January Video Values coupons are now up (unless otherwise specified, you can stack those coupons with any manufacturer's coupons you may have). There are some great coupons this month for you to print out (after you watch brief videos, of course). For example, there's a $1.50 off any Burt's Bees lip color coupon and this week when you spend $10 on any Burt's Bees skincare or lip care, you'll get $3+UP. If you use that coupon, you'll only have to spend $8.50 out of pocket to qualify for the $3+UP (if your Rite Aid has the new glosses and tinted lip balms this would be an awesome way to use this coupon). There are also Video Values coupons for $1 off Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream, $1 off the new L'Oreal Advanced Haircare line and more.
Walgreens shoppers: This is really cool: on the Walgreens Discover Beauty Within home page, there's a page that features the winners of the 1st Annual Walgreens Beauty Advisor Awards. I'm not sure how these awards were decided, but I love that Walgreens is honoring their Beauty Advisors (*waves to all of the wonderful BAs who read Nouveau Cheap*), who help us all so much throughout the year with coupon hook-ups, advice, etc. So be sure to click here and see if YOUR favorite Beauty Advisor won an award this year! The January Coupon Book is now in stores (coupons valid 12/29 - 1/26). Click here for the full list of what's inside this month's book. And remember that you can stack these coupons with any manufacturer's coupons you may have, for even more savings (there are lots of good L'Oreal coupons this month!).

New 2013 product wrap-up and info

    To contact us Click HERE
As you all know, I've been doing nothing but new products posts this week (and I'm still not done!), and I've had a few of you ask if I could do a wrap-up post featuring all of the new 2013 products to date. Well, that would be a very long post, so I think the easiest thing to do, if you'd like to see every single new 2013 product I've shown you to date, is refer you to the "categories" section on the right-hand sidebar of this blog. There you can select "New 2013 products" and that will bring up every single new product post I've done for 2013 to date
(IMPORTANT: when you come to the end of the page, click "older posts" because there are many more posts than what you'll see on the first page.)
    Hope this helps!
PS: Thanks so much to everyone who has submitted new product info to me (it is much appreciated!) but I do want to take a moment to remind you that I will not post photos of things I've already posted photos of here. For example, I have recently received several photos of the new Revlon Spellbound nail collection, the new Maybelline Rocket Mascara and Vivid Lipstick Collection, but since I've already done posts about those (with photos), I unfortunately can't run your photos. I ask that you please do a quick search on my blog before you submit pics, and thanks so much! Also, I've been getting lots of questions about the new Drew Barrymore Flower line of cosmetics this week, so I think it's worth repeating that I am aware of the line and did a blog post about it a few weeks ago. If you missed that, click here for more info. Thanks!

Rite Aid $4 off Physicians Formula coupon (grab it before it's gone)

    To contact us Click HERE

A HUGE thanks to several of you for the heads-up that right now on the Rite Aid Facebook page, there is a coupon for $4 off any Physicians Formula purchase (hurry though, because this is only valid for the first 20,000 fans).
I probably don't have to tell you how nicely this will pair with this deal this week (now through 1/5):
40% off all Physicians Formula foundations, powders, blushes, concealers and bronzers; spend $15 on any of these items (after the 40% off discount) get $5+UP (limit 2)
    So let's break this down:
Buy four PF powders/blushes/bronzers/concealers for $9.99 each (total of $39.96). After the 40% off discount, your total drops to $23.98. But then you'll use the $4 off coupon, which brings your total out of pocket down to $19.98.
Then, since you spent over $15, you'll receive $5 back in +UP rewards, which you can use however you wish on your next purchase (for example, use it with the Wet n Wild deal and you'll only have to spend $5 out of pocket to get to the $10 you need in order to get another $5+UP rewards. Then you can take that $5+UP and buy another $10 worth of WnW stuff  and get another $5+UP rewards. Crazy, right?)
So after sales, coupons and rewards, your grand total for four Physicians Formula products will be $14.98. That's a savings of $24.98. Not too shabby.
And of course you can also use this coupon on a single item purchase. Let's say you find the new Super BB Cream stuff and you only one item. If the BB Cream retails for $14.99 (I'm guessing here on the price), with the 40% off discount your total drops to $8.99. But with that $4 off coupon, your grand total drops to $4.99. Not bad at all!

Thanks again to everyone who took the time to share info about this coupon! I really appreciate it!

Spotted: New L'Oreal Visible Lift Color Lift Blushes

Whew! I've got a lot to say about this new blush collection from L'Oreal and I haven't even seen these babies in person yet!
But first: I received several pics of this collection and I'm so very sorry that I can't share them all here. I've said it before, but I just want to reiterate that this time of the year is extremely chaotic and I always find myself behind in posting new product pics, no matter how hard I try to stay on top of it. So again, I apologize if you were nice enough to share some pics and you don't see them here. It's absolutely my fault and I hope you'll forgive me.
Reader Eymi shared some pics of this display and managed to capture something that I previously didn't know about these new blushes. Take a look:

As you can see, the Color Lift Blushes are part of the Visible Lift family (the foundation is not new).

If you're lucky enough to find a display that has this tear-pad coupon, you'll snag $2 off your purchase. Yay!
After sharing sneak-peeks of this new blush collection (before we even knew the name), I was left with the impression that these were going to be powder blushes and that they were matte in nature. Well boy was I wrong: on both accounts!

Eymi purchased one of these blushes and confirmed that they actually have the same type of "spongy" texture as the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes (not super surprising since L'Oreal owns Maybelline). And if you enlarge these photos, you'll see that every shade in this display contains a good amount of sparkle. So yeah, they're not matte and they're not powders!

Also, there MAY be more shades in this range, but there are six in this particular display (if you've seen more shades out there, please do let us know!).

Have you spotted these new blushes in person yet? I'm hearing from several of you that they've surfaced at Rite Aid, Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Ulta, and I think Kmart too.
I'm still looking forward to trying these (despite the fact that I was hoping they were matte powders) because I'd like to know if they have better staying power than the Dream Bouncy Blushes, which didn't hold up too well on my super oily skin.  I'm a sucker for that bouncy texture!
Thanks so much, Eymi, for the great pics and info. I really appreciate it!
